We are looking for 1 full time technician/possible driver and 1 seasonal crew member. We treat everyone like family, with respect and are people focused company. No experience necessary, will train the right candidate but its highly favorable if you have experience. We hire for attitude and humility, not just skill and experience. We have a very cheerful environment so we're looking for positive people who like working outdoors. This position is responsible for assisting the Lawn Care Crew Lead in daily operations including quality control, training, punctuality and safety. The employee will show attention to detail and effectively communicate with peers and his/her supervisor. (Lawn Care Technician reports directly to the Crew Lead). We are looking for employees that possess a friendly, customer service minded attitude and will conduct themselves professionally at all times.
Good hourly pay, paid vacations/ holidays and generally a 5 day week with occasional Saturday due to inclement weather. Must be positive, dependable, have reliable transportation, hardworking and able to handle working in the heat. We are conveniently located in the heart of Garland, right in front of the DART train station. You can ride the train and walk to our facility. We will provide uniform shirts, hats, glasses, gloves, ear plugs(you can bring your headphones), water and ice.
Qualifications:
• Ability to work in a team environment with members of varying skill levels
• Highly motivated quick learner
• Drug free work environment
• Ability to work in outdoor elements with temperature varying from 100+ degrees to 32 degrees cold in winter.
• Ability to lift 40+ lbs consistently throughout the day.
• High attention to detail…the customer doesn’t see what we do, they see what we don’t do that they paid for.
• High ability to deal with fast paced environment while keeping your composure on and off the job.
• Available to work a varied schedule (including Saturdays) in any and all adverse weather conditions.
• Stoop, stand and bend for 4+ hours a day.
• Able to work legally with a SSN or other proofs of citizenship
• Felonies won’t automatically disqualify you but will be looked at on an individual level.

My name is Mae Hughes. I am the founder of 2ND CHANCES 4 FELONS. I started this company because of the hardships I faced as a felon trying to turn my life around. I looked for help but could not find any. I asked people for suggestions, I went to several places and even searched the internet but STILL could not find real help. I found it very hard to get people to see past the fact that I am a convicted felon. I went to countless interviews explaining my situation and how much I have changed. Yet and still no one would hire me. I was at my breaking point and BEYOND frustrated so I made a decision to NOT ONLY HELP MYSELF BUT OTHERS AS WELL. Instead of getting angry and giving up, I did the opposite. I turned my NEGATIVE into a POSITIVE and created this company hoping to ease the struggles that other felons may face. I created this company solely for the purpose of helping felons to know that there are second chance opportunities available to them. My main purpose is to reduce the number of felons who give up because they think that there is not any help available for them. I attended the University of Phoenix and received an Associate's degree in Business in 11/2012. I am a mother and my children are my everything, and the reason for me wanting to do and be better. My hope is that this company will be able to provide HELP where HELP IS GREATLY NEEDED !! I pray that the information I am providing can offer assistance with helping felons who are looking for a way to prove to society that there are some of us who deserve a second chance and who are willing to PROVE it through our CURRENT actions.
