OCIE Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift.  There is 1 open position

Important information about this position:

  • Hours: 3:30pm-12am Monday-Friday
  • Wage:  $9.87/hour + health and welfare benefit
  • Location: Airport Warehouse

For all OCIE contract positions, additional requirements for applicants to be considered are:

  • A qualifying disability
  • No theft charges for the past 15 years (felony or misdemeanor)
  • No felony of any kind in the past 5 years
  • No positive drug screen test in the past 12 months
  • Be able to meet the lifting requirements specified on the job description
  • If past 5 years involved jail or prison, the Department Manager or their approved proxy to make final hiring decision.

Will work in a multiple areas inspecting product.  Product is inspected at multiple stages throughout the process and all inspections must be logged. Quality Inspectors will also need to sort product to classify product as it is unloaded from trucks. 


1.         Inspect good product to verify serviceability - Daily

2.         Inspect product after cleaning process to determine cleanliness – Daily

3.         Inspect product after repair process to verify serviceability  – Daily

4.         Frequent lifting (up to 10 pounds) – Daily

5.         Moderate lifting (up to 40 pounds) – Daily

6.         Occasional lifting (up to 75 pounds) - Daily

7.         Meet deadlines - Daily

9.         Maintain safe and clean working environment - Daily

10.      Work with supervisor towards meeting performance standards- Daily

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

4th grade reading level and 3rd grade math level.  No prior experience or training.


4th grade reading level or higher.  Ability to read and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers- up to 15 digits.  Ability to print and speak simple sentences.


Basic math skills (3rd grade math).  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.  Have problem solving ability.  Ability to pay close attention to detail.
