General Laborer
Position Description:
Perform a variety of general construction labor to produce precast concrete panels including form clean-up, moving of materials by hand, and plant housekeeping. Production Laborer may be assigned to any production department (i.e. wood shop, steel shop, maintenance) based upon skill sets of employee and company needs and will be expected to carry out the duties associated with those departments.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
+Operating hand-held equipment including power tools, saws, hammers, nails, and bolts.
Assist in pouring of vertical concrete
+Assist in the set up/layout of production lines: pull cables, tie mesh and rebar, disassemble and clean forms after use
+Assist in pouring and finishing of concrete or other departmental tasks to meet schedule requirements
+Observe all safety practices and policies
Job Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+Previous precast concrete plant experience is desirable
+Able to read and write fluently
+Work requires alert individuals with good balance and physical strength.
+Able to follow directions and communicate in a civil manner with others
+Frequent use of hand tools such as power tools, chop saws, grinders and other miscellaneous hand tools
+Must be able to read a tape measure
+Job skills and requirements may vary according to specific department
+Proficiency of skills may lead to advancement to trainer, leadman, or foreman positions based upon the needs of the company
Working Conditions:
The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as a hard hat, safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection and exposed to varying weather conditions.
Physical requirements
This position may require the need to stand for long periods. The position will require employee to climb up and down stairs and ladders on an intermittent basis as well as working in the outside production area throughout the day on uneven ground and on elevated areas. The employee may reach above shoulder height or below the waist or lift as required. Lift 20 lbs. throughout the day and occasionally 100 lbs. Constant moving, bending, and reaching is required to perform duties. Must be able to respond to visual and audio safety warning devices and instructions from others.
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position when work is available. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. but may vary according to production schedule. Occasional early, evening, or weekend work maybe required as well as overtime on some Saturdays due to workload.
Personal Situation:
Must be able to commute to both the Springfield and or Ozark Plant reliably for work. Must be able to work extended hours when required per workload.

Union Wages:
90 Working Days to 6 Months Pay Rate $16.62
6 Months to 1 Years Pay Rate $17.06
1 Year + working days Pay Rate $19.86 hourly

My name is Mae Hughes. I am the founder of 2ND CHANCES 4 FELONS. I started this company because of the hardships I faced as a felon trying to turn my life around. I looked for help but could not find any. I asked people for suggestions, I went to several places and even searched the internet but STILL could not find real help. I found it very hard to get people to see past the fact that I am a convicted felon. I went to countless interviews explaining my situation and how much I have changed. Yet and still no one would hire me. I was at my breaking point and BEYOND frustrated so I made a decision to NOT ONLY HELP MYSELF BUT OTHERS AS WELL. Instead of getting angry and giving up, I did the opposite. I turned my NEGATIVE into a POSITIVE and created this company hoping to ease the struggles that other felons may face. I created this company solely for the purpose of helping felons to know that there are second chance opportunities available to them. My main purpose is to reduce the number of felons who give up because they think that there is not any help available for them. I attended the University of Phoenix and received an Associate's degree in Business in 11/2012. I am a mother and my children are my everything, and the reason for me wanting to do and be better. My hope is that this company will be able to provide HELP where HELP IS GREATLY NEEDED !! I pray that the information I am providing can offer assistance with helping felons who are looking for a way to prove to society that there are some of us who deserve a second chance and who are willing to PROVE it through our CURRENT actions.
